Diabetes Mellitus is one type of non-communicable degenerative disease which is a serious problem for public health in Indonesia and in the world. People with diabetes mellitus often consume foods that contain high fat such as offal, thick coconut milk cooked in food and often consume sweet drinks when eating / after eating rice, and lack of physical exercise or exercise will keep glycogen or fat reserves in the body. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of diet and exercise on blood sugar levels in patients with diabetes mellitus. This type of research is a quasi-experimental (one group pretest posttest design). Sampling by means of total sampling as many as 30 people who seek treatment at the ekdocrine poly RSUD Tgk. Chik Ditiro Sigli. The analysis of the results of this study includes univariate and bivariate analysis using the Chi Square test. Analysis of the results of the study before doing diet and exercise had no effect on experiencing hyperglycemia, it was found that p value = 0.469 (P < 0.05) which means that there is an effect of diet and exercise with increasing blood sugar levels in patients with diabetes mellitus. which after doing diet and exercise that is there is a normal influence obtained p value = 0.001 (P <0.05) there is an effect of diet and exercise on blood sugar levels in patients with diabetes mellitus Patients are advised to know, understand the problems that occur, especially their ability to maintain a diet and exercise and maintain an increase in blood sugar levels.
