An Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is a special area in a hospital where critically ill or trauma patients receive special medical and care services. Music therapy is a therapy that uses the method of melody, rhythm, and sound harmonization well. The purpose of this study was to determine the application of music therapy interventions to patients in the ICU. Literature obtained from Google Scholar, Proquest, Ebscho, Pub med published spanning 2000-2016 found 28,867 related articles. After the selection, 7 relevant articles were found, 1 article from Ebscho, 4 articles from Google Scholar and
5 articles from Proquest. music intervention found several improvements in stress reduction including heart rate, respiratory rate, anxiety, pain relief, use of analgesics and use of sedatives. Music therapy has a positive effect in substantially reducing the physiological stress response arising from anxiety in mechanically ventilated patients
